We are a space of non-discrimination for all people to learn, explore and create. Over the years, our member base has developed a community of forward thinking young intellectuals in Jacmel. The majority of the staff come from this community base and continue to provide a platform for the youth of Jacmel.
Welcome to the Jakmel Community Empowerment Foundation website, or JCEF for short. JCEF is a non-profit public charity founded in September, 2018 to support the youth and community in and around Jacmel, Haiti in the areas of the arts, sciences, technology and trade skills education. Our connection to Haiti goes back much further, however.
After the earthquake in 2010, the need for a new art center and school was recognized, leading to the foundation of Jakmel Ekspresyon (JE). There was also a need for school supplies and clothing, particularly at the orphanages.
With the founding of JCEF, it is now possible to sponsor programs such as JE, which is making a huge impact on the lives of its students and Kay Angel Childrens Home which provides a home for 13. We appreciate your interest and hope you will be able to join us in supporting the youth and community of Jacmel.
JCEF is the primary resource of funding for Jakmel Ekspresyon (JE).
JCEF supports the educational funds for Kay Angel Children’s Home.
